Care Guide

Caring for Your Barkcloth

  • Store your barkcloth in well-ventilated space to let it breathe.
  • Use soft cloth with a bit of water and gently wipe the barkcloth to clean it when exposed to dirt and dust. Dry it in the shade. (Most grease, oil stains and ink marks are unfortunately non-removable and should be left alone.)
  • Though the sap/gel from the treebark naturally strengthened the fiber through its long and intricate making process, we recommended to avoid intense contact with water for the best use and performance.
  • Every piece of barkcloth might have some natural marks as it comes from mother nature, and it is not a production defect.

Caring for Your Plant-Dyed Wearable Poetry

  • Hand-wash in cool water with pH neutral soap, such as lerak (soapnut) or baby shampoo. Soak it for 5 minutes, rinse and squeeze gently. You may see some release of color in the water during the first wash but it is normal.

  • Dry it in the shade.

  • Iron on low temperature for silk and tencel, whilst cotton, linen and calico can be ironed on medium to high temperature.

  • Store it away from direct heat and sunlight.

  • Care for your wearable poetry as per instructions to make it last as your lovely companion for years to come ♥
